Founder support engagements
You need help identifying which problems to solve and want advice from an executive who’s experienced what you’re going through several times over.
I’ve helped founders:
- Determine the culture and talent strategy best-suited for their business
- Design processes for execution and team structures that scale with the business
- Develop intuition for what “good” looks like in engineering - technical decisions, talent, etc
- Coach their engineering leaders on day-to-day management and leadership
- Uplevel themselves as leaders of a fast-growth startup
Compensation
Typically, I charge an hourly rate in cash, and unless the work requires creating a lot of artifacts (process documents, interview loops, etc), the time billed is what’s spent live in meetings. Within reason, followups over email and/or Slack are included. If an engagement is particularly involved, I’ll do a discounted rate for a minimum set of hours.
Sometimes, my contracts include equity compensation, vesting over the expected duration of the contract.
